Jess & Ben tie the knot: St Peter and All Hallows Church, West Huntspill, Somerset
Jess and Ben couldn’t have asked for better weather! A fine British Summer’s day greeted them on the morning of their wedding. Sunny and warm with no threat of rain made for a beautiful day.
The ceremony was held in St Peter and All Hallows Church, West Huntspill in Somerset. The church that was first established in 1208 and enjoys the status as a Grade I Listed building (so no satellite dish then?) :)
The bride arrived in a friend’s restored Morris classic car and was escorted by her bridesmaids and Father to the South entrance of the church where there was time to take a few informal portraits and just enjoy the moment.
The ceremony was varied with formality, reflection, readings, hyms and plenty of laughs (the highlight being the Vicar encouraging the couple to jump over a broom!). Stars Wars fans would have noticed ‘The Throne Room’ playing the couple out of the church - the icing on the cake in my opinion.
From there it was off to the reception venue: Secret World Wildlife Rescue, Somerset . Ostensibly a animal rescue and rehabilitation centre, Secret World also has a well proportioned, private and pretty event area where the reception was held.
‘Drinks on the lawn’ was the order of the day once the wedding party had arrived. The afternoon continued at a leisurely pace with the setting sun washing a soft glow over the scene as guests and family mingled.
With the hog roast meal and speeches over, it was time to dance with 50s rock n roll blasted out with great verve by The Moonlight Trio band. Jess and Ben took the lead on the dance floor but soon encouraged the gathered guests to strut their stuff; young or old, no one was shy! A fantastic day out with a laid back and fun couple not to mention their lovely guests!
