I pretended to be you and came up with a load of questions to answer about my super awesome documentary wedding photography
How do we book you?
Let me know what your thinking and how you think I can help you and we'll go from there. If we are happy that we are a good fit and you want to proceed we'll complete a contract (sounds scary but is quite normal). To secure your booking you'll need to pay a deposit as well. Full payment is required 1 month before your wedding.
How do you approach the day?
Like I'm a guest, but with an important job to do. I stroll about. I mingle. I wait for the moment. I'm relaxed, considerate and low maintenance. Other than having a basic itinerary for the day i just mingle and position myself to get the documentary, unposed style coverage that you want.
Do you take 'formal' portraits?
The short answer is yes! Although my style of photography is documentary / reportage, if you need a small number of group shots and couple portraits then this is no problem. I like to limit portraits to no more than 30 minutes so no one gets bored and I can get on with the candid photography that you prefer. We can discuss your portrait requirements when you book. You can see more of my portrait style by clicking this link and view my relaxed engagement photography work here.
How long do you stay?
My packages are based on 8 hours or 12 hours coverage although I don't set hard finish points.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional level Fujifilm mirrorless cameras and lenses and will always have backups. A large part of my approach is simplicity. I don't carry lots of equipment or use any fixed lighting setups. My cameras and lenses are small and unassuming. This approach is in keeping with my candid, reportage style.
What's your process after the wedding?
As soon as I return home your images will be downloaded to my PC and backed-up. I use a colour calibrated monitor and Lightroom and Photoshop to edit and 'develop’ the pictures in my preferred style.
When can we expect to receive the pictures?
Between 4 and 6 weeks from your wedding day. The pictures will be delivered to you as full-size JPEGs via a private online gallery from where you can download the pictures with no restrictions or share the link and password as you see fit.
How many pictures will we receive?
This will depend on the length of the day and the itinerary but I don't set targets or limitations. 12 hours of coverage will likely produce approximately 400 - 500 finished pictures, but my priority is always pictures that tell the story, not numbers.
Do you own copyright to the pictures?
Yes, Orbit Photography retains copyright but you have unrestricted rights to use, distribute and print the images as you wish (excluding commercial and editorial use). Orbit will use pictures of your wedding for its own promotional purposes after you have received them e.g. in a portfolio gallery, on Instagram.
Where are you willing to travel to?
I'm based on the Somerset and Devon border but cover the UK and abroad (if you can fit me in your suitcase.)
Are you insured?
I'm professionally insured and can show you the certificate if you need it.
